Central Italy has been hit by several large earthquakes since August 2016:
- On The 24th of August, a magnitude 6.2 earthquake hit the region of Amatrice at 03:36 local time causing more than 290 victims and left several thousand homelesses. Information on the main shock here.
- On October 26th, the region of Visso is hit by a magnitude 5.5 and a magnitude 6.1 within 2 hours. This time, no victim has been reported as the first shock sent most people out of their home which saved their lives. Information on the main shock here.
- On October 30th, at 07:40 local time, a magnitude 6.5 hit the region of Norcia causing important damage to cultural heritage. The Norcia's Basilica of San Benedetto is destroyed. Information on the main shock here.
